Mistcloud silently stalked along the wide expanse of soft earth, keeping in the cover of the tall grasses growing along the edge. She was hunting for rabbits and she didn't want them to see or hear her. She raised her muzzle and scented the air. Mistcloud was delighted to smell the very strong scent of rabbit, and she stopped walking so she could hear better. She heard a scuffling noise, and as she angled her ears towards it, she gazed around with pale green eyes until she spotted two large rabbits nibbling on the grass. How can I catch one of them without scaring the other off? she thought. Then she had an idea. She crept up on the two rabbits, and when she was close enough to hear them breathing, she pounced, landing on one and pinning it down, and killing the other with a bite to the neck. She then released the rabbit beneath her and killed it with a blow to the head. She dragged the rabbits over to a large clump of grass and hid them aside before turning around to continue on. As she turned, she saw the grass in front of her thrashing wildly, and she froze. She scented the air, but it was the scent of a cat she detected, not that of an enemy. *The waving grass can be any cat*

Hawkfeather, WindClan Deputy, slowly emerged from the waving grass. Walking slowly and quietly it appeared he was hunting too. At the sight of Mistcloud and his prey he said, "It appears you are having more luck than me." He followed these words with a chuckle. It appeared Mistcloud was about to respond when Hawkfeather said, "SHH, I hear something." In the brush about 3 meters away a rabbit was hopping about. He's mine, Hawkfeather taught to himself. Seconds later when the rabbit was closer to Hawkfeather, he pounced on top of it and bit the neck to assure himself that the rabbit would not run away. Proud of his catch Hawkfeather looked at Mistcloud.

Mistcloud relaxed as she saw the WindClan deputy walk out of the grass and say," It appears you are having more luck than me." She opened her mouth to reply, but was she was cut short when Hawkfeather spotted a rabbit. She flattened herself down to the ground and watched as he pounced on it and bit tis neck. "Great catch!" She purred as he looked up proudly. It must be hard to be the Deputy, she thought . She hoped she didn't sound rude, but she was curious, so she asked, "Hawkfeather, how do you like being the WindClan deputy?"
