Ebonystar is a jet black cat. He has a scar above his left eye, and one of his ears (left) has a little 'chip' cut off, almost unnoticeable unless you are looking for it. His paws are white. He has a few white speckles on his muzzle, and his back contains some grey fur mixed in here and there. His tail is black, with a white speckled tip. His front right paw has a missing claw, from when he was in a battle when he was younger. He's a muscular built cat, and he is pretty lean. In the centre of his chest there is a white spot of fur. On his underbelly, there is a mixture of black, white, and dark brown fur. His flank is a dark black, and is scar-covered. He has a birth deformation; he has an extra 'finger' on his right back paw. Most see this as a message from Starclan saying just because you have been born with a defect doesn't mean you can't be a great warrior.
Personality:
Ebonystar is not someone who trusts easily. He has to know a cat extremely well for him to trust them. He likes to be independent; He is not one to act with others. He is too proud to accept help, he thinks as if he accepts help will pronounce him as a wimp. Even in the darkest hour he won't accept help. He has to do everything alone. Nobody knows why he is so independent, they just go along with it. They are wise not to anger this experienced warrior. He fights over the silliest things, like prey; but over serious things, also, like territory and rights. Ebonystar is very disciplinary; he will not stand for silliness or rule-breaking, making him an ideal leader. He is quiet, and not one to brag. He strongly dislikes boasters and will shut them up pretty quick if he has to stay around them.
History:
Ebonykit >< Ebonypaw >< Ebonyflight >< Ebonystar
Ebonykit: When Ebonykit was born, his parents dropped him off alone in the forest. No-one knows who his parents were. Ebonykit wandered off in the dark, damp forest trying to find someone. He wandered for one moon, with little food. He ate wild greens, and drank water from the damp grass/moss. Finally, he stumbled across two cats. They were guarding somthing, he though. He ran over two them and was immediately charged by the two cats. He ducked and the two jumped over him. From behind, they came toward him. he reared on his hind legs, making a big mistake - they could now reach his soft underbelly. It went black. And there he lay, the two cats leaning over him. He explained he was a young kit, and was looking for shelter. For now, they called him 'Kittypet'. He didn't know what that was, nor cared. When he got to the camp, they explained they were Clan cats. The leader came up to him, and asked him where he lived. Ebonykit explained that he had wandered off when his parents left him, and wanted to be a clan cat. The leader accepted, and sent him off to the nursery. A sweet-smelling orange she-cat nursed him, and he stayed there for his first 6 moons.
Ebonypaw: Ebonypaw had been trained for 5 moons. He asked his mentor, Ashfoot, when he would be a warrior. The mentor replied, "in around 6 more moons." He trained hard, battled many friends, and eventually he was 11 moons old. He wanted to be a warrior, yet Flowerstar (the leader at the time) said he was not ready. So he trained. He worked as hard as any cat could. When he was 12 moons old, he went to his first gathering. He met cats of other clans, and listened to the Leaders' speeches. He was very interested in other Clan cats, so he talked to a few from Thunderclan. They told him about the Sunningrocks, the river bordering Riverclan and Thunderclan, and so much more. He listed intently, thinking later he could run off to the river and explore. When he got back, he trained still harder. At 13 moons, he became an eager young warrior - Ebonyflight. He was named for his lean form (at the time).
Ebonyflight: Ebonyflight was an eager young warrior. He had amble energy, and caught many prey. He didn't sleep much, always wanting to live up to his clan. He received racism, cats calling him a kittypet. One day, he told one of the other cats to battle him to see who was the kittypet. The rude cat accepted, and they fought. Ebonyflight experienced some heave damage to his back, but won. The other cat stayed away, and Ebonyflight never saw him again in his warriorhood. When he was around 20 moons, he took an apprentice: Coalpaw. Coalpaw was a smart cat, and Ebonyflight knew that. They trained hard, and when Coalpaw was 11 moons, Ebonyflight 26, Ebonyflight decided Coalpaw was ready. He gave Coalpaw a race between another apprentice, Squirrelpaw. Coalpaw and Squirrelpaw tied - they were both ready. Ebonyflight notified Flowerstar, and Coalpaw was a warrior. Ebonyflight had bonded with the young warrior, and he remembered his apprenticehood; he was just as excited as Coalpaw. When he was 30 moons, he became deputy; the former had died in a battle with Shadowclan. He was wise, and always organized the patrols when ordered. He and Flowerstar bonded, and when at last she died of old age when he was 36 moons, he became leader. Ebonystar had arisen.
Ebonystar: Ebonystar was 36 moons - a fairly young leader. He knew many older, wiser cats that were more fit, but he was happy it was him - he was the leader! He enjoyed organizing patrols, and all the duties. Before long, though, all the energetic kit attitude had been replaced with an older, more serious cat. When he was 40 moons, he attended a gathering and decided he could state the cause of Flowerstar's death - old age. He decided they should know she was around 100 moons - a pretty old cat. He felt an urge inside him, and knew he did the right thing by being honest to the other Clans. He announced the new deputy would be Asterpetal. Riverclan rejoiced. When he was 44 moons, he decided he would try a new way of catching prey - cobwebs. He put some in the river, tied by a rock, and when he came back the next day, there was a small guppy. He knew that was too small to feed even a kit, and gave up the new idea. This is where he is today.
Role-play Example:
His eyes were closed. Ebonystar rolled around in the leaves, enjoying his time alone. I wonder..., he thought, if anyone is near.... He listened. No cat could be heard. Then, out of the blue, he heard a soft pad. Asterpetal, he thought. He sat up in the golden leaves, and the rustling stopped. He opened his eyes, and there stood Asterpetal. "Hello, Asterpetal," he said. He wondered what she was doing, staring at him like that. "Is there a problem?" Asterpetal looked directly at him. "No, just looking for prey," she answered. He knew something wasn't right. "Go ahead, I'll be back in the camp," he said. She walked away, and he crept after her, wondering if he'd ever see the sweet cat he knew again.
