 Raincloud - RiverClan Medicine Cat - She-cat
« Thread Started on Sept 29, 2007, 7:45pm »

Name: Raincloud
Gender: She-cat
Age: 36 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Medicine Cat
Mate: None, she's not allowed
Kits: None, she's not allowed
Appearance:
Raincloud is the smallest cat one will ever meet. She is about the size of a brand-new apprentice, and when she was younger she was constantly teased about it. Despite her size, Raincloud is an incredibly beautiful she-cat. She has a slender build, which disguises her powerful underlying muscles. Her pelt is short and thin, yet silky soft. Because her pelt is so thin, in the seasons of leaf-fall and leafbare she becomes freezing cold and rarely leaves her den. During newleaf and greenleaf, however, her thin fur makes it easier to stay out of the camp for long periods of time. Her fur is a very pale silvery blue-grey, with darker grey flecks that can remind one of a storm. Her front right paw is also dark grey, as well as the tip of her tail. However, her front left paw is the brightest of white. Raincloud's pelt shows off its silky feel through its shine, as well as looking incredibly kit-soft. She swims often, which has caused her pelt to adapt and easily repel water. Her eyes are a bright, pale blue. They have a slight green tinge and almond shape to them. She has long, pointed ears that are velvety to the touch and white whiskers.
Personality:
Raincloud likes to think about things for a long time before she comments on them. She says little, but whenever she does speak, her words are something to take notice of. She likes to spend time with kits and elders, and is well known among the four Clans. She walks so closely with StarClan that their steps seem intertwined, and it sometimes seems as if StarClan are using her as their messenger. Raincloud is very patient and forgiving, always giving someone the benefit of the doubt. If she leaves camp, she quickly becomes hyperactive and runs a lot, but she keeps this side of herself secret. She loves to swim and spend time in the water, and sometimes fish will come right up and play with her. She can usually be found trying to keep her hyperactive sister Silverpool from 'destroying the world', and is thought of as "boring" by said sister. A gentle medicine cat is she, as she hates bloodshed and killing, and refuses to take part in battles. Don't think of her as a cat with no backbone however, as Raincloud will fight to the death to protect her Clan if she needs to.
History:
Kithood: Rainkit, Sootkit, Dapplekit, and Silverkit were born to loving parents Grayfur and Moonstream. Rainkit was the runt of the litter, no bigger than a mouse. When the kits were three moons old, a rogue cat broke into RiverClan's camp and stole the four of them. The rogue killed Sootkit and Dapplekit and was about to kill the two female kits when Grayfur tore out of the bushes and attacked him. As Rainkit and Silverkit escaped into the bush, their father killed the rogue. He died a little while later from the injuries he had received in the battle. Rainkit fell into a deep depression when she learned this, and realized she wanted to become a medicine cat. She felt that if she had known the proper herbs, she could have helped Jadeleaf (the medicine cat) and her father would have lived.

Apprenticeship:
Rainkit soon became Rainpaw, and was apprenticed under Jadeleaf. She proved to be a fast learner, easily remembering the different herbs and mixtures she was shown by her mentor. She was teased often, due to the fact that she was about the size of a newborn kit. She worked as hard as she could, to try and make sure no other cat died the way her father had. her hard work and determination made her a favorite among the other clans as well as her own. About three moons after she became an apprentice, a group of badgers attacked their camp. Along with the loss of many cats, Rainpaw's beloved Jadeleaf was killed in the attack. Her sister, whom had become Silverpool, helped her grieve for her lost mentor.

Medicine Cathood:
Rainpaw found it hard to realize her mentor was dead, and even harder to realize the responsibility she now had as RiverClan's new medicine cat. Ebonystar held her naming ceremony once the camp was rebuilt, and Rainpaw became Raincloud. She now received regular dreams from StarClan, instead of the once every so often ones she had gotten when she had been an apprentice. Raincloud is very proud that she became the medicine cat of RiverClan. She vows to do everything in her power to make sure she keeps RiverClan strong.

Role-play Example:
The gentle patter of rain was the only sound that could be heard in the forest. A tiny cat, hardly larger than a kitten, slipped through the bushes unseen and unheard. The feline batted at the swollen river with one paw as she reached its bank. She was slender, with short, soft fur. Her fur seemed to glint silver off of the river, with a few darker spots that could barely be seen. She moved lightly, jumping onto a fallen tree branch to get across. When her paws touched the bank on the other side she let out a purr of satisfaction. She padded lightly away from the river, off towards the WindClan border.

When the cat reached the border she sniffed the air curiously. Raincloud, for that was who the cat was, bent her head and tore some peculiar berries from a bush. Juniper, just what I need. she thought. She swished her tail happily and trotted back toward the river. On her way she looked around quickly, as if she was making sure no cat was watching her, and took off into a steady run, back towards the swollen river she had crossed to get here.

By now the river had expanded even more, and the branch she had used to cross earlier was covered by the water. The tiny she-cat looked around for another branch, but couldn't find one. Then she had an idea. The twoleg bridge! the bridge was never flooded, and Raincloud had a feeling it would lead her back to camp. She trotted away at a slower pace until she reached the twoleg bridge. The water came up to her belly, but it was a way to get across without being swept away. As the tiny Medicine cat crossed, she couldn't help but feel frustrated with all of the rain. This was the fifth day of rain, and if it didn't stop soon, their camp would be flooded. They had already needed to move the nursery and apprentices' dens because they were low-lying enough to be flooded by the rain. Even she was starting to notice slight flooding in her den, and it was one of the higher ones
Pictures:
This was the best I could find, although it doesn't fit her much.
