Attention all leaders of each Clan, this post is made to guide you on how to hold ceremonies for your Clan. Medicine cats can also read this guide.
Remember, always start with: "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the [your Clan's meeting area] for a Clan meeting." Then, wait for some of your Clan's cats to arrive before you start the ceremony. Please do not hold the ceremony without any cat knowing - it's rude, you know. Although you are leaders, please do not power-play another cat. Thank you!
Apprentice Ceremony
"We are gathered here beneath the [Clan meeting place] to acknowledge a new apprentice. By naming apprentices, we show that [your Clan] will survive and remain strong. [Kit's name], from now on you will be known as [apprentice name, must end with 'paw']. [New mentor's name], you are ready for an apprentice, you will be [apprentice's name] mentor. [Mentor's name], you have known [two virtues of the mentor] and I expect you to pass on all your skills to [apprentice name], so that [he/she] may be a loyal warrior to [leader's Clan]."
Wait for the mentor and apprentice's role-players to post.
(The new mentor and apprentice touch noses.)
Warrior Ceremony
"[Mentor's name], are you satisfied that this apprentice is ready to become a warrior of [leader’s Clan?"
The mentor's role-player posts.
(Mentor answers.)
Leader's turn to post.
"I, [leader’s name], leader of [leader's Clan], call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. [He/she] has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend [him/her] to you as a warrior in [his/her] turn. [Apprentice’s name], do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
The apprentice's role-player posts.
(Apprentice answers.)
Leader's turn to post.
"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. [Apprentice’s name], from this moment you will be known as [new warrior name]. StarClan honours your courage and [another virtue of the new warrior], and we welcome you as a full warrior of [leader’s Clan]."
The leader and the new warrior's role-players post.
(Leader rests muzzle on new warrior and warrior licks leader’s shoulder in return.)
Other Clan cats post.
(The Clan calls new warrior by [his/her] new name, then the warrior sits silent vigil that night.)
Elder Ceremony
“[Warrior’s name], is it your wish to give up the name of warrior and go to join the elders?”
The role-player of the warrior posts.
(Warrior answers.)
Leader's turn to post.
“Your Clan honours you and all the service you have given us. I call upon StarClan to give you many seasons of rest.”
Medicine Cat Apprentice Ceremony
This ceremony is held at the Moonfall.
Medicine cat's role-player posts.
"[Kit’s name], is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan?"
The kit's role-player posts.
(Kit answers.)
The role-player of the medicine cat posts.
"Then come forward. Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. [He/she] has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant [him/her] your wisdom and insight, so that [he/she] may understand your ways and heal [his/her] Clan in accordance with your will. Now, crouch down and drink from the pool."
The new medicine cat apprentice's role-player posts.
(Apprentice does what mentor says and shares dreams with StarClan.)
Medicine Cat Ceremony
This ceremony is held at the Moonfall.
Medicine cat's role-player posts.
"I, [medicine cat's name], medicine cat of [medicine cat’s Clan], call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. [He/she] has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help, [he/she] will serve [his/her] Clan for many moons. [Apprentice’s name], do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"
